Nose: Sweet confectionary sweetness is accompanied with raspberry sticks and cooked rhubarb – the sweetness is sugary with licorice notes and candy shop sweetness (fruit and mint flavoured lollies in particular). This is lovely cognac on the nose, because its bouquet develops and builds as the cognac rests in the glass – nothing spectacular, but it is sweet and fragrant without the “hot” alcohol that taints many cognacs. Taste: Mouth-filling with a good balance, dried figs balance against the dark chocolate notes as creamy notes begin to emerge towards the end. Finish: The wood notes steam off the tongue as it slowly dried, and as the dryness lifts the sweet fruit notes emerge. |
