The Glenfarclas 12 Year Old gives off a dull and unenergetic nose which proceeds lethargically to the palate. This whisky is enjoyable, though not spectacular in my view. Its nose is delightful, but I think on the palate it is dull and watery.
Nose
The sweetness of sherry dominates the nose, with some fresh lemon and lush green pastures! It is soft and light, with bursts of freshness.
Taste
The nose does not fairly represent the taste of this whisky, which tickles the palate with sweet sherry and the bitterness of burnt toffee which then recedes and is taken over by bitter tea leaves and an earthy bark with a whiff of smokiness.
Finish
This whisky dances on the tongue, releasing the different flavours that were present on the palate with the addition of spice.
