Glenfarclas 8 Year Old

The Glenfarclas 8 Year Old strikes the tongue with a young rawness that is allowed to shine through due the mild sherry in the backdrop that whispers gently.

A boring whisky in some ways, it has a spark of sherry here and a flurry of malt there. My mind wonders and starts to daydream, and I know that this is not my cup of tea; though it is a nice drinkable whisky.

There is some complexity in this whisky, but it needs some more maturity I think to develop some more depth and character. It does have a lovely sweetness, with hints of honey and dried fruits like sultana.
